  • Maui’s Grand Wailea introduced a new water adventure ride perfect for cooling down during the summer. The Fishpipe, the longest water slide in the world, rotates at 45 revolutions per minute while suspending participants above a pocket of air in 75 liters of water.   • The Ala Moana Farmers Market is now available pau hana (after work) style. Earlier this month, the outdoor mall expanded its popular Saturday farmers market to Tuesday nights. The event features a unique range of over 35 vendors, providing fresh island produce and delicacies.   • Weary travelers visiting Hawaii Volcanoes National Park on Hawaii, the Big Island can soon find shelter at the restored Volcano House Hotel this fall.   • Hawaiian Airlines continues to expand internationally recently introducing a new Pacific gateway and announcing additional service and new partnerships in the Asia market.

    Beginning March 13 (2013), Hawaiian Airlines will commence nonstop service between Auckland (New Zealand) and Honolulu (Oahu). Hawaiian will be the only US carrier serving the Auckland market with flights operating between the cities three times a week.
Visitors from or connecting through Seoul, South Korea can now travel to the Hawaiian Islands any day of the week on Hawaiian Airlines, which recently increased the existing four flights per week to daily service between Seoul and Honolulu.
To help fill the increase in capacity from Seoul, Hawaiian has teamed up with interline partner Air China and China International Travel Service (CITS) to offer Chinese visitors a premium Hawaii tour experience, flying them in to Honolulu on its nonstop service from Seoul.   • Four hotels representing three Hawaiian Islands earned Platinum Hotel honors from Celebrated Living for being named to the list of Top 10 Family Resorts. Maui’s Grand Wailea received the No. 5 spot, the highest ranking of the Hawaii contenders.
