Molokai's Macadamia Nuts

February 20, 2014

Molokai Macadamia NutsDo you like chocolate-covered macadamia nuts, cookies with macadamia nuts, or even raw macadamia nuts? Have you ever seen them growing? Visit a working macadamia nut farm on Molokai!

Stop by Purdy’s Natural Macadamia Nuts and visit with Tuddie Purdy, a Molokai native who has been growing these popular nuts for over 33 years. His property is full of trees dotted with macadamia nuts, their green shells shining in the warm Molokai sun.

You’ll learn unique facts about the nuts and the different stages of the growing process as Tuddie tours you around the trees before he shows you the different ways to crack the hard shell. The tour finishes as you sample different preparations of the nuts as well as honey from the property.
