Xterra Championship Trail Run Course
The Aloha Festival season starts in early September and runs through October. Molokai and Hana finish the Maui Nui festival schedule in October with their own wonderful parades and cultural events. October in Maui Nui is outstanding with a variety of sporting events starting with a Molokai outrigger canoe race, moving on to the Lanai Triathlon and then on to the all terrain Xterra Championships held at the Kapalua Resort. We finish October with crashing waves and the dare devil antics of amazing windsurfers at Hookipa Beach Park. We also offer you a sneak peak at some other upcoming events for this fall.

The Castle Theater hosts an evening of opera with the first-ever Hawai‘i appearance of internationally renowned star soprano, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, in recital accompanied by Pianist Terence Dennis. Dame Kiri was born in New Zealand of Maori aristocracy. New Zealand Professor Terence Dennis, a pianist from the University of Otago’s Music Department, will accompany Dame Kiri as she performs selections from composers Scarlatti, Vivaldi, Handel, Liszt, Strauss, and Rachmaninoff. On Molokai the festival starts with a ceremonial investiture of the Royal Court at the Mitchell Pauole Center on the 13th at 7pm. On the 14th the Prince and Princess will be honored with local entertainment, an Ulu contest and ono grinds at 7pm in the Mitchell Pauole Center. The colorful Molokai parade will go through Kaunakakai town on the 15th at 9am, featuring Pa’u riders, the fun will continue with a Ho’olaule’a, awards presentation, entertainment and arts and crafts.
