LIHUE, KAUAI – Escape the chill of winter and relax on the warm, white sandy beaches of Kauai, where the island’s cool blue waters and lush green mountains call for an exhilarating adventure to discover nature’s captivating splendor.

“A trip to beautiful Kauai is the perfect way to get away from the harsh temperatures currently being felt around the U.S.,” said Sue Kanoho, executive director of the Kauai Visitors Bureau. “Visitors can forget about the cold winter by enjoying a wide variety of outdoor water activities including kayaking on the Wailua River, snorkeling at one of Kauai’s lagoons, sailing to the Napali Coast, and mountain tubing down an old plantation irrigation ditch.”

Kauai Named Best Anniversary Destination

Kauai’s reputation as a premier destination for romance has received a big endorsement, being ranked #1 as the “Best Anniversary Destination” worldwide by the readers of 10Best and USA TODAY. The 10Best Reader’s Choice Awards is determined by the votes of readers over a four-week period, many of whom certainly have enjoyed Kauai’s romantic allure.

Tasting Kauai Adds New Food Tour

Tasting Kauai has added a third edible experience to its food tour roster. “A Taste of Kilohana” offers a seasonal taste of Kilohana Plantation. Amidst lush landscaping and pineapple fields, the exclusive tour will teach guests how to make Gaylord’s signature mai tai with fresh-pressed sugarcane and lime juice at Mahiko Lounge, and includes an off-the-menu, three-course, locally sourced meal by executive chef Todd Barrett that’s served in the Private Dining Room of the historic Wilcox Mansion. Princeville Ranch Adventures Introduces Professional Zipline Action Photography

Take home professionally shot zipline photos without all the fuzz and blur! Princeville Ranch Adventures and Snapsportz have introduced a state-of-the-art automatic camera system designed to capture professional action images on the Zip N’ Dip and Zip Express tours. Photos are automatically snapped as guests zip across scenic valleys in the ranch interior. Hawaiian Surfing Adventures Offers New SUP Yoga Classes

Experience Kauai's enchanting Hanalei River while practicing yoga on a stand-up paddleboard! Classes are 90 minutes and include everything you need to enjoy the experience of a lifetime, as well as digital images of your session. Zip Toward the Sunset with Koloa Zipline

Koloa Zipline invites guests to race the setting sun and zip under the stars with their newest and most challenging zipline adventure tour, the Sunset Zip. This tour highlights the views of Kauai’s beautiful south shore sunsets, challenges guests to find brighter stars in the sky, and tests their senses by zipping Kauai’s longest ziplines in the dark. The tour is offered every day at 5:00 p.m. for a 3.5 to 4-hour tour to zip through eight lines. Koloa Rum Co. Introduces Kauai Coconut Rum

Koloa Rum Co. is proud to announce the “Newest Member of our Ohana – Kauai Coconut Rum!” Launched in August at the Tasting Room and Company Store at Kilohana Plantation in Lihue, Kauai Coconut Rum is flying off the shelves. It has a creamy toasted coconut flavor with a hint of tropical vanilla. Kauai Beach Resort Completes Food & Beverage Makeover

Heritage of Aloha Hoolaulea – February 21-22

Prince Kuhio Celebration Kauai – March 15-19

Celebrate Prince Kuhio’s birthday with a multitude of cultural and educational events spanning over two weeks at locations throughout Kauai. Musical Legends in the Garden – April 5

Kick off the National Tropical Botanical Garden’s 50th Anniversary celebration on Saturday, April 5 with spectacular performances by top local musicians in the beautiful open-air lawn of NTBG’s Southshore Visitors Center. The award winning trio, Hawaiian Legends, comprised of Ledward Kaapana, Dennis Kamakahi and Mike Kaawa, headlines this must-see concert. 13-time Grammy winner, Jerry Douglas will also take the stage for the first time in Kauai for an enchanting dobro number. Musical Legends in the Garden also features performances by the Nathan Aweau, Jeff Peterson and Benny Chong Trio, The Hanalei Bay Trio, and the children’s choir of Ke Kula Niihau O Kekaha.
