ADVENTURES, ACTIVITIES & EVENTS 
In a first-of-its-kind partnership with Google Maps, the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau (HVCB) will begin mapping out the interior of the Hawaiian Islands using the company's Street View Trekker equipment to collect 360-degree images showcasing parts of the destination not accessible by car. HVCB has enlisted the help of Kailua-Kona based Hawaii Forest and Trail, to launch the initial phase of the project on Hawaii, the Big Island hiking the Trekker technology through more than 20 popular and well-maintained state and national park trails across the island including Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Akaka Falls State Park, and Pololu Valley. Hawaii Forest and Trail will track its progress on Hawaii Island with a new blog http://blog.hawaii-forest.com.

opens its Worldwide Voyage Display exhibit this month, featuring information on the two canoes (Hokulea and Hikianalia) of the Worldwide Voyage (WWV) mission. The Polynesian Voyaging Society's WWV, sponsored by Hawaiian Airlines, is a 45,000-mile, four-year sail set to begin this summer. The Worldwide Voyage Display features five large display panels of information about the two canoes, the WWV mission, the sail plan, its goals, and a timeline of past voyages. Ocean Sports, Hawaii Island's premiere full-service ocean recreation company on the Kona/Kohala Coast announced that the first phase of renovation of the Alala, the largest catamaran in their fleet, has been completed. The company has temporarily removed the mast and headsail from the boat, making the Alala the most luxurious coastal cruiser in West Hawaii. The Kings' Shops on the Kohala Coast is going green with the installation of an electric vehicle (EV) charging station for all guests to the center.  The charging station features a high-resolution touch screen along with instructions and video and allows two vehicles to charge at the same time.
