Chef Peter Merriman’s iconic upcountry restaurant, Merriman’s Waimea will soon begin a major redesign. ACTIVITIES, ADVENTURES & EVENTS
The iconic IRONMAN World Championship presented by GoPro will be held on Oct. 11 in Kailua-Kona. Triathletes from around the world swim through the waters surrounding Kailua Pier, bike through Kona roads to the Kohala Coast and back, and run a marathon course that ends at Alii Drive with thousands of cheering spectators at the finish line. The Waikoloa Beach Resort Kings’ Course will host the Dennis Rose Invitational golf tournament with the women’s event from Oct. 27-28 and the men’s from Oct. 31-Nov. 1.
